CASTELLANA LEADS NHRA GET SCREENED AMERICA PRO MOD QUALIFYING AT BRISTOL DRAGWAY

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Mike Castellana raced to the qualifying lead Friday in the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.
Castellana powered his Al-Anabi Racing ’69 Camaro to a leading performance of 5.993 seconds at 239.10 mph to pace the 16-car field.
Jay Payne was second in his ’68 Camaro with a 5.998 at 237.13; Danny Rowe was third with a 5.999 at 241.80 in his ’68 Camaro; and Rickie Smith was fourth with a 6.006 at 237.05 in his ’68 Camaro.
One round of Pro Mod qualifying remains for Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The first round of Pro Mod eliminations will start Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. The final three rounds of Pro Mod eliminations will be completed on Sunday.

Night of NASCAR Stars II and POWRi Midget & Micro Series
NASCAR Star Tony Stewart from Columbus, IN to Appear
Macon, IL – Macon Speedway will be hosting Night of NASCAR Stars II on Tuesday, June 15th with NASCAR stars Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader. See Ken Schrader and Tony Stewart race their UMP Modifieds. Tony will be racing a Modified for the first time ever at Macon Speedway
Tony Stewart from Columbus, IN whom is one of the partners in Macon Speedway has only raced a couple times around the facility. Tony is the driver of the number 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet in the Sprint Cup Series. Tony is no stranger to open wheel racing as he has raced go karts, quarter midgets, midgets, sprint cars, silver crown, indy cars and then he moved to stock cars. Tony has been very successful with his career winning championships in IKF and WKA Karting, USAC three series, IRL, NASCAR Cup Series. Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader will be signing autographs from 5:00pm to 6:00pm first come first serve.
POWRi Midgets and Micros comes to Macon Speedway for their first visit this year. See stars such as Tim Siner, Brad Loyet, Brad Kuhn, Derrick King, Austin Brown, Nick Knepper, Zach Daum, Andrew Felker, and many more.
See Ken Schrader and Tony Stewart will race against Macon Speedway’s local fan favorite Modified drivers to have bragging rights of winning Night of NASCAR Stars II. See Dave Crawley Jr, Kyle Logue, Mark Tullis, Aaron Burcham, Danny Smith, and many others.
Macon Speedway’s “Best Fan in the Stands” sponsored by All Service Racing Parts and Sheet Metal, located on Damon Ave. across from Firestone. “All Service Racing Parts is your only All Star Performance dealer in Decatur”. A lucky fan will win $400 this week if their name is draw from the box after the Modified feature event. If the Best Fan in the Stands is not present the prize money will roll over into next week’s prize. Macon Speedway will also be drawing an extra 50/50 ticket to give one lucky fan a ride in the Macon Speedway 2 seater Late Model driven by one of Macon Speedway’s local drivers.
Tuesday night’s schedule will feature four divisions, including the POWRi Midgets, POWRi Micros, UMP Modifieds and Street Stocks.
Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. With many fan favorite events on schedule, including three “Night of NASCAR Stars” nights planned and the famous Herald and Review 100, UMP’s premier Summer National event, 2010 is stacking up to be a memorable year. June 26th Macon Speedway will be celebrating our 65th Anniversary with our Miles Chevrolet/Driver Reunion night.
Macon Speedway where every Saturday Night we race gates will open at 4:00 with autograph session from 5:00 to 6:00 racing will start at 7:00. Adults are $20 and kids 12 and under get in for $5 with a paying adult. Pit Passes will be $30.
