VOTING FOR EIGHTH SLOT IN K&N FILTERS HORSEPOWER CHALLENGE BONUS
EVENT WILL CLOSE SATURDAY AT 9 P.M. ET
GLENDORA, Calif. (June 18, 2010) – Voting for the eighth and final spot in the 2010 K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge, the lucrative special event for Pro Stock drivers that takes center stage June 26 during the fourth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park, will close Saturday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
Fans can vote by navigating to the K&N Filters Web site (http://www.knfilters.com/register/kn_hp_cs.aspx). The winner will be announced during ESPN2’s broadcast of NHRA Race Day from the 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Sunday June 20 beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The reward for the driver voted into the eighth slot is a first-round matchup with Mike Edwards, who in the first 11 events of 2010 has seven wins and nine No. 1 qualifiers.
A purse of $76,000 is available for the eight drivers competing in the K&N Horsepower Challenge. The winner of the 26th annual K&N Horsepower Challenge will earn $50,000. The runner-up will earn $10,000, the two semifinalists $3,000 each, and the four first-round finishers $2,500 apiece.

Macon Speedway Announces Reschedule Date of Night of Nascar Stars II with Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace
Macon, IL—Macon Speedway has announced that the previously rained out Night of Nascar Stars II will be rescheduled for Monday, July 5. The speedway’s owners will all be in attendance to sign autographs from 4:30-5:30, the racing action which will feature the POWRi Midgets & Micros plus UMP Modifieds and UMP Street Stocks will begin at 6 pm. All tickets previously purchased for the Night of Nascar Stars II that was to be held on June 15 will be honored. Tickets are on sale now for the new July 5 date by calling Macon Speedway at 217-764-3000.
